She got there as quickly as time would allow. Only necessity and Liara’s soft reminder goaded her into a conversation with Admiral Hackett over the QEC. Her thoughts were everywhere but the war or the ancient Prothean device or Earth. They ran in circles, whirling in shades of black and gold behind her eyes.

But she spoke with him. She said her piece and listened and held herself together. When Bailey stopped her on the hangar deck, she held herself together. Through the long taxi ride, while the elevator moved between one floor and another, when she asked whatever nurse she could find where she could find Lieutenant Commander Williams, she held herself together.

Even when the door fell open and she first laid eyes on the woman in the hospital bed, she didn’t fall apart. And that was when she knew that she wouldn’t. Instead of dissolving into tears, Jaclyn stepped up next to the bed and reached out for Ashley’s hand. Only then did she realize that she hadn’t changed. She was still in her armor, standing there with gloved fingers curled carefully around Ash’s wrist.

She gave a wet chuckle before clearing her throat and blinking back the few tears that threatened to spill over.

“I need you back on the Normandy, Ash. If you were there, this shit wouldn’t happen.”

Well this took two days to finish. But I really wanted to do it. I wanted to highlight some of the most epic moments in Mass Effect 3. There are a ton more but these are just some of the ones I (as well the suggestions from my lovely followers) could think of. Thank you BioWare, for the Mass Effect series. From hunting down Saren, to stopping the Collectors, to blowing the Reapers back to dark space. Mass Effect 3 was an emotional roller coaster. We all had our highs and lows. We lost friends along the way, but gained new ones.  Shepard’s story is at an end, but no matter what we’ll always remember them and thank them for the amazing ride.
